The contact a CRM marks as dead is usually just the one nobody priced correctly at intake.
Most systems let you log a lead source and a status, but they don't capture what was actually offered in the first outreach, whether it was cash, terms, or a price the seller never took seriously. Six months later the record says "no response" and the follow-up sequence stops. The problem is that no response to a bad offer and no response to a good offer look identical in the activity log. If the intake form never asked what the seller's actual number was, or what they're doing with the proceeds, the CRM has a contact but not a deal. The sequence fires the same five texts either way and the lead ages out. A deal to study: a seller says no to $180k cash, goes quiet, and eighteen months later calls back because the circumstance changed and $180k now solves the problem it didn't solve before. If the system closed that record at month two, who's catching that call? What does your current setup capture at intake beyond address, source, and a motivated or not motivated tag?
