What does "down to the studs" actually include on a 95k shell?
Career changing into this and I've got no construction background at all, so please assume I know nothing.
There's a listing near me, 1,100 sq ft, 95k, description says "down to the studs, bring your vision". Photos show bare wood framing inside, no drywall, no fixtures, no kitchen, no furnace. There's a floor. The roof looks new-ish in the photos.
Renovated houses on that street are selling 245 to 265.
What I don't understand is what's actually left to do. Is a house at the studs mostly done being demolished, so I'm just paying to put things back? Or is the demo the cheap part and I'm about to find out the expensive stuff is all still hiding? The listing says nothing about the electrical panel or the plumbing and I wouldn't know how to tell from a photo.
I'm not going to buy this one. I've got 30k saved and I know that's not enough. I want to understand what I'm looking at so I stop mis-reading listings.
