Does anyone actually do mid-quarter check-ins with LPs, or is quarterly the floor everyone just accepts
I run leasing for other people's buildings so I spend a lot of time thinking about what owners want to know and when they want to know it. I have been watching how sponsors in this room handle their cadence and almost all of it is quarterly. I get why. Quarterly is manageable and it matches the financials. But I keep thinking about a scenario where something shifts in month two, nothing catastrophic, just a lease-up running four weeks behind or a repair that came in higher than the reserve. By the time the quarterly update goes out the sponsor has had six weeks to sit with that information and the LP is hearing it for the first time. That gap seems like where trust erodes even when the news is not actually bad. A short mid-quarter note, even two paragraphs saying nothing has changed, feels like it would cost almost nothing to send. But I also have not run a syndication, I have 40 parking spaces and a duplex I keep stalling on, so I am genuinely asking whether sponsors who have tried a mid-quarter touchpoint found it worth the added work or whether it just creates more questions than it answers.
