The property description got rewritten by the agent and I think it cost us a week
I manage leasing across a big portfolio so I read a lot of copy, and the pattern I see there carries over when I look at listing content from the outside. Agent got a property description written by a vendor, it was specific, it led with the thing that actually made the unit different, good flow. Then she rewrote it before it went live because it "didn't sound like her." The new version opened with "welcome to this charming" and buried the screened porch and the updated panel in the fourth sentence. Property sat nine days longer than comps that closed that month in the same zip. I can't prove causation but I've pulled enough traffic reports on our own vacancy ads to know that the first sentence either earns the click or it doesn't. Vendor eats the blame when the asset underperforms but nobody tracks what the agent changed after delivery. At least in my world I can pull the version history. Wondering if listing content shops are building any kind of approval gate into their workflow or if the delivered copy just disappears into whatever the agent does next.
