Agents keep telling me they want video, but I want to know what actually closed because of it
A listing gets professional stills and a walkthrough video. The stills go on MLS, Zillow, Redfin. The video goes on Instagram, maybe a YouTube link in the remarks. I genuinely do not know how often a buyer's decision traces back to the video rather than the photos, because agents rarely track it that granularly and photographers rarely get told after the fact. The mechanism where video is supposed to win is something like: a buyer on the fence watches the walkthrough, gets a feel for flow and room proportion that stills flatten out, and schedules a showing they might have skipped. That is the argument. What I keep wondering is how frequently that actually fires versus the video just being a line item the listing agent checked off to signal effort. If you have shot video for a year or two on a consistent volume of listings, do you hear back from agents about which jobs video seemed to matter on, or does the feedback basically stop at delivery?
