My Airbnb payout hit the day before my owner's mortgage was due and I had already spent it
Okay so I know the obvious fix is to invoice the owner and keep the accounts separate, and I was doing that until I took on a unit in Breckenridge last October where the owner specifically asked me to run through the co-host payout split so she could see the fee come out cleanly. Fine, whatever, she's a good client and the cabin does $4,200 a month average so I said yes. What I didn't think through is that I'm now sitting on her money until Airbnb releases it, and Airbnb held a payout an extra four days in November because of a guest dispute on a different listing entirely, and her mortgage on that property was due the 1st. She was understanding about it. I was not okay about it. I'm moving every single owner back to month-end invoicing regardless of what they want to see on their dashboard, and I'm eating the awkward conversation, because I am not doing that again.
