Sent my first lead nine days ago and heard nothing
Career change in progress, zero deals, and I sent my first real lead to an investor I met at a meetup. Small single family, garage door caved in, grass to my knee, notice taped to the front door that I did not read closely because I wasn't sure if I should. I sent him the address, four photos, and the parcel number from the assessor site.
He replied "thanks, will take a look." That was nine days ago.
What I have: nothing in writing with him. We shook hands at a meetup and he said $1,000 to $2,500 depending on the deal. I didn't ask which.
What I'm unsure of: whether nine days of silence means he's working on it, means it was a bad lead, or means he's going to buy it and I'll never know. I don't want to be the person who emails every three days. The specific thing I have to decide is whether I follow up now, and if I do, whether I use it to ask for something in writing before I send him a second lead. I've already got a second one.
