First tenant leaves in March. What should turnover cleaning cost?
My first rental is a two bed one bath, about 900 square feet, and the tenants gave notice for the end of March. They've been fine, rent always on time, and from what I saw at the last inspection the place is normal lived-in dirty rather than damaged.
I have no idea what to budget. A cleaning company near me lists $180 for a standard clean and $340 for a move out clean and I don't understand what the extra $160 buys. Do I need the move out one? Can I just do it myself over a weekend, or is that the kind of thing that costs me a week of vacancy because I'm slow?
Also I don't know if cleaning is a thing I'm allowed to take out of the security deposit or not. I'd rather ask before I do something wrong.
