An $8,000 AI texting setup against 14,200 dead leads and one VA
Four years of mail and PPC leads sitting in a database. 14,200 records, of which maybe 9,000 have a phone number I'd call good. All of them said no or went dark at some point.
Current state: one VA at about 120 dials a day, working newest first, which means the 2021 records have never been touched twice. She books me 4 to 6 appointments a week and I close 2 deals a month on average, thin, $11k to $16k net each. Fast stuff, mostly assignments.
The quote is $8,000 to build an AI texting setup that works the whole old list on a schedule, qualifies replies in conversation, and hands warm ones to my VA with a summary. Then $1,400 a month for the AI, messaging costs, and his monitoring. He showed me a case study with a 4.7% reply rate on a similar aged list and said 1 in 12 replies became an appointment. On 9,000 records that's 423 replies and 35 appointments, which even at my close rates is a couple of deals.
What I don't know. Whether 4.7% on his client's list means anything about mine. Whether my consent situation on 2021 PPC leads holds up for texting today, and I know the registration and consent rules have changed and I need to confirm current requirements. Whether an AI conversation with someone who is grieving a parent's house is a thing I want my name on.
$8,000 is most of a deal. I have to pick this month because my mail budget for Q2 is the same money.
