My contractor brain keeps treating every CRM like a job cost sheet and I think that's the wrong model entirely
Nine doors, a few Oklahoma parcels I'm sitting on, and I've been running leads through a spreadsheet that I update maybe twice a week when I remember. A job cost sheet tells me where every dollar went on a build. I keep trying to make a CRM do the same thing, show me where every lead dollar went, and it keeps not fitting because a lead isn't a line item, it's a conversation that's somewhere in the middle of happening or not happening. On the build side I always knew the status of a subcontractor because I had eyes on the site. I don't have eyes on a seller who went quiet after I sent an offer in March. The spreadsheet just shows me the date I last touched the row. So I'm trying to figure out if my whole frame is off, if a CRM for this kind of investing is less about tracking cost and more about tracking temperature, and whether anybody who came from a trade or construction background hit the same wall before they figured out what they were actually trying to see.
