A woman at a meetup told me her whole job is writing to 200 people

I went to a local real estate meetup mostly to figure out what jobs exist in this business that aren't buying houses. Ended up next to a woman eating the free pretzels who said she works for two syndicators and doesn't own anything at all.

I asked what she actually does all day. She said she writes the quarterly letters, answers investor emails, onboards new investors when a deal opens, and chases people for the paperwork they said they'd send last Thursday. About 200 investors across both sponsors. She said the busiest week of her year has nothing to do with real estate, it's when tax documents go out and everyone emails at once.

What stuck with me is she described the job as being the only person an investor ever talks to. The sponsor is out looking at buildings. The property manager is dealing with a broken elevator. She's the voice. She said she once spent forty minutes on the phone with a retired guy who wasn't confused about anything, he just wanted to talk to a human about where his money was.

I didn't know that job existed as a job. I've been assuming everything in this industry is either agent or landlord.
